MEHNA is a not‑for‑profit trade association, representing and promoting the interests of equipment manufacturers involved with all aspects of a heat network. To do this we have a number of different working groups that members can take part in. This is the current list of groups.
-
Heat Networks Group
This is the main MEHNA group and covers all sectors of heat networks. Group meetings are held quarterly allowing discussions about developments in standards and regulations, formulating an industry response to those that may affect a members business. Membership of this group give access to technical advice and up to date information on standards, legislation and directives, including those currently under development.
-
Board
The MEHNA Board has participation from members across all of the different sectors within MEHNA, and meets quarterly. The board oversees the formal responsibilities for the association, agrees an annual plan and budget. It reviews annually key issues, handles major one-off events, and deals with specific policy issues.
-
HIU Standards Group
The HIU Standards Group has been put together to develop a BSI HIU Standard to set out the minimum provision in the design and manufacture of HIUs to safely deliver heating, cooling and hot water within domestic and commercial heating and cooling systems. It will specify requirements for the construction, performance, safety, testing, installation and commissioning of HIU's connected to an individual or widespread Heat Network. The intention of the standard is to promote low carbon, high efficiency heat networks.
-
Water Treatment Group
The Water Treatment Group is a joint venture between both MEHNA and ICOM members. The group was initiated to look at the common issues faced across both divisions to promote the water treatment message. A Water Treatment Quick Guide is being devised along with a re-brand (to include MEHNA) and update to the two existing ICOM water treatment guides. Another aim of the group is to develop a non-domestic water treatment standard.
