Heating non-domestic buildings in off gas grid areas: consumer experiences and attitudes towards low carbon heating

Tuesday 8th June 2021
A report on the attitudes of non-domestic consumers in off gas grid areas towards low carbon heating systems and future policies.

This research was undertaken with non-domestic consumers based in off gas grid properties. It aims to:

  • develop an understanding of the impact and attitudes towards phasing out fossil fuel heating systems in these areas
  • explore what support could be provided to support non-domestic consumers with the phase out of fossil fuel heating systems off the gas grid

Research data was collected through surveys and telephone interviews. The primary low carbon technology respondents were asked about was heat pumps.

BEIS commissioned Impact Research Ltd to conduct the research.
